ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Consider an artist at your residence, while you are away, quietly capturing in oils on canvas the beauty of where you live - the vistas and the views, the gardens and the paths, the meadows and the trees. On loan to the artist are the vignettes and special places that you have created within your home, where the slant of the sun through the window illuminates the wonderful treasures and the corners that nurture your soul. That's what Barbara paints. And in the spirit of sharing, she gives back. In exchange for being allowed entrance to paint your world, you are given first choice of any one painting that Barbara produces from your surroundings - to add to your current collection, or perhaps to begin one. All in a mutually convenient pre-arranged time schedule between the artist and the owner(s) of the residence. That's the essence of Artist in Residence.
Barbara plans Artist-in-Residence stays months to up to a year or two in advance in order that she and the collector of her artwork in whose residence she will stay can come up with a mutually convenient time for them both. She drives to nearby locations from her Gilmanton New Hampshire home, but if air fare or a car rental is involved, these costs, as well as other thoughts and concerns, can be discussed privately between the parties. Barbara accepts Artist-in-Residence requests based primarily on her painting needs and regrets that she is not able to accept every request she receives.
To request an Artist-in-Residence stay at your residence or vacation home, please email 3 to 5 photos of the views from or at your residence and a letter of introduction including your name and location. Be sure to put "Artist in Residence" as the subject of your email and state the dates that your residence will be available for an Artist-in Residence stay. You will receive an email reply within a week to 10 days.
